RUBIRIZI DISTRICT RECEIVES 6,096 ALTERNATIVE LIVESTOCKS FOR PEOPLE  WHO VACATED WETLANDS 

In a struggle for the Government to improve environment conservation in Rubirizi District, the Ministry of Water and Environment in collaboration with Green Climate Fund Wetland Restoration Project have provided 380 Beehives with apiary inputs, 446 Pigs with feeds, 95 improved Goats, and 5,175 Chicken(kuroilers) for 28 groups in Katanda, Katerera and Kyabakara Sub Counties, while 8 Fish ponds are under construction in Katerera Sub County.

Rubirizi district Senior Environment Officer also the project focal person Mr. Agaba Agrey request that people who have not yet vacated wetland should do so as soon as possible so that they don't miss out on such beneficial programs, he added that the rolling out to Ryeru, Rutoto and Magambo Sub counties in Bunyaruguru county is soon.
